What a summer?! I can’t imagine a much better one, altough I hurt myself, had a massive stomach flue and had more curry that you would normaly eat. I scored many good sessions at lonely spots-thats what I like. As my level is not crazy, I tried to make a beautiful video with a story behind – i hope you like it.

I am still not sure if I should be happy or sad about the result from yesterday. I sailed some really solid heats – just lost against my friend Max Matissek Windsurfing in the Single – when I also sailed a good heat. Was 3rd after the Elimination and in the Double I had also two really good heats but unfortunatly both got resailed – in my last one I went absolutely big on a Airshaka – crashed and dislocated my shoulder. But on the otherside I am happy with my performance and for my friends who made it on the podium, but on this day more could be possible. After destroying my ankle in Sri Lanka now this feels like it’s a never ending story of getting hurt, anyways I will try everything to come back much stronger than I was in 2014.
What a summer! After an amazing summer already last year on the island Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean, I decided to go there again. I almost spent two months at a town on the north west Coast called Kalpitiya. Thanks to Upul and his Team from Desilva Windresort (www.surfschool-srilanka.com) who helped me a lot. The conditions were a wide mix – from perfect flat with strong wind to gusty 5.2 pumping in chop. But I really have to say that I was on the water pretty much all the time just with a few friends or even alone – which I don’t know on which other spot you could have this in summer.
